Tree Aid to reverse effects of climate change in Mali with latest appeal

2 April 2019

Tree Aid will help people reverse the effects of deforestation and climate change in the drylands of Africa through its latest appeal, ‘She Grows’, which launched today.

The ‘She Grows’ appeal will specifically support 1,000 women in Mali to set up small businesses that process and sell shea butter and honey. It will also provide the tools and training they need to save and replant their local forest. Furthermore, as a UK Aid Match appeal, all public donations will be matched by the UK government.

‘Trees are being wiped from the landscape in the African drylands and the desert is spreading, making it harder for people, especially women, to feed their families and earn an income,’ says Tree Aid patron Joanna Lumley.
