SCIAF launch Wee Box Big Change appeal
The Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) has launched its Wee Box Big Change appeal to raise to help people in some of the poorest countries in the world who struggle to survive due to hunger, poverty, conflict and natural disasters.
As a UK Aid Match appeal, all donations made between 21 February and 20 May will be matched by the UK government. These funds will provide thousands of women in the Democratic Republic of Congo with healthcare, surgery and trauma counselling, legal support to prosecute their attackers and help to become financially independent so they can support themselves and their families.
SCIAF’s Chief Executive Alistair Dutton said: “I’m delighted the UK government is going to double donations to our WEE BOX BIG CHANGE appeal this year. The money we raise will help many thousands of vulnerable people in some of the poorest countries in the world overcome the challenges they face and work their way out of poverty.”
