New appeal aims to tackle malnutrition
The International Rescue Committee has launched the ‘Protecting Milestones’ appeal today, in order to help tackle malnutrition for children living in conflict-affected areas.
As a UK Aid Match appeal, all donations will be matched between 3 May and 3 August by the UK government. These matched funds will be used to fund a malnutrition programme in Nigeria.
IRC’s UK Executive Director Laura Kyrke Smith said: “Unfortunately, it is all too common for families in conflict zones to struggle to access the food and medical care they need. As fifty million children worldwide suffer from acute malnutrition every year, we want to help girls living in conflict areas to grow and reach their full potential.”
